Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant acts as a support partner by assisting in the proper revenue recognition among other general accounting processes.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for reconciliation and analysis of the general ledger, troubleshooting problems, fixing discrepancies and completing month end customer billings. Must know, practice, and ensure that company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws are followed at all times.
The Staff Account collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders and has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:?


  • Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to GAAP reporting and procedural standards.
  • Reports to management regarding the financial and accounting results of the organization.
  • Establishes tables of accounts and assigns entries to proper accounts.
  • Develops, implements, modifies and documents recordkeeping and accounting systems.
  • Computes taxes owned and assists in preparing tax returns ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements.
  • Develops, maintains and analyzes budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Education and Qualification Requirements: ?


  • Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field required?
  • Five years of experience in accounting required with automotive experience preferred.
  • General automotive knowledge required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • General knowledge of Canadian tax laws and guidelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft applications
  • Conflict resolution and customer service skills required.?
  • Must exhibit strong team player attributes with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.?

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
