Taylor Corporation is looking for a Director of Operations (Plant Manager) to lead our Hutchins, Texas rotary forms manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for ensuring attainment of profit, growth and market penetration objectives according to plan, as well as providing support to the sales team to achieve customer service objectives, interacting with sales personnel and customers and actively engaging in positive management leadership to build and maintain a positive, safe, and productive work environment for all employees. Shift:
Monday - Friday (Plant operates on 5-day schedule) Your Responsibilities Include:
Create and foster a culture of safety and lean manufacturing - personally lead by example. Selects, develops, trains/cross-trains and motivates staff to ensure attainment of short and long term growth objectives. Directs the Production Manager and Shift Supervisors in the operation of a multiple shift manufacturing facility, including development of a highly responsive production team. Directs the plant team on quality & service improvement and continuous improvement in all aspects of the business. Drive continuous improvement and innovation to add capabilities and/or improve efficiency. Develops and improves measurement and control systems to ensure highly effective performance in the areas of productivity, quality and cost containment. Develops business plans and budgets to contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the Company. Oversees the effective management of inventory control, warehousing, planning/scheduling and delivery. Keeps the Business Unit President apprised of progress toward objectives through monthly progress reports and financial reporting. Identifies areas requiring improvements and ensures the appropriate production or administrative functional areas implement necessary actions. Directs the development of preventive maintenance programs for the physical facility and plant equipment. Responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards for all employees. Remains informed of competitive activities, trends in the market, as well as maintains a sound relationship with customers. Regularly meet with sales, customer service, and customers. Provide performance scorecards for and participate in customer business reviews. You Must Have:

years leadership responsibility in a multi-shift, complex manufacturing environment Strong financial acumen - budgeting, cost analysis, ROI on investments, understand trends, quantify value of actions Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and foster a positive environment characterized by employee engagement and morale, open communication, customer focused Experience with modern best practices around employee safety, lean manufacturing, quality processes, preventive maintenance, root cause/corrective action, metrics management, customer satisfaction, compliance with company and regulatory rules and requirements. Experience working with sales and customer to build relationships, solve customer challenges, resolve issues, and profitably grow the business. Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of management and with sales and customers. Strategic planning and demonstrated skills at writing implementable business plans. Adaptability; ability to balance needs of production and sales/customers. Strong interpersonal skills Intermediate PC Skills - Computer / measurement systems knowledge; proficient in spreadsheet applications, web browser / internet navigation. Strong planning / organizational skills Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate employees. Ability to travel 10-20% We Would Also Prefer:
Print industry experience Print manufacturing expertise - particularly in offset printing Lean practitioner Logistics expertise - warehousing, freight
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Operations ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
